As you, the savvy marketer, already know, making a connection with an audience is the most important part of marketing. It’s what makes campaigns successful and what brings revenue in. Sometimes, however, life throws you a curveball. Earlier in 2018, Facebook announced a new algorithm would keep the focus of the user timeline on friends and family. Thus, with this new change, limit the exposure of posts from business pages in user timelines.

Annoying? Yes. Impossible? Certainly not! Let’s look at 3 easy tips that you can use to rectify this challenge and still reach your audience.

Engaging Content

With Facebook pulling the focus away from business pages, it is crucial that you bring your A game with your content. You want to give your audience a reason to visit your page and interact with your brand. Creating posts that encourage your audience to like, comment and share will help you expand your reach (despite Facebook’s best efforts).

  • Show the faces behind the practice. Whether video, blog post or a simple photo, seeing the friendly faces of the staff, doctors and health professionals brings warmth and familiarity to your brand.
  • Post content designed for engagement. Try something like asking a question of the week or a question with a particular holiday theme.
  • Share news, updates, and stories related to your practice and your field. Try to make it interesting or humorous to encourage audience interaction.

Video (Especially Live)

Videos content keeps your audience engaged for longer periods of time and more likely to interact. In turn, this can lead viewers to explore your page for other content that they may have missed. Video also does not need a much in the way of design, production or set-up. Set your device to record and speak from your heart. If you’re struggling with what exactly to record a video about, start by brainstorming some ideas from the suggestions listed in the first item.

Spend a Little $$$

You can expand your audience reach without spending hours and hours on new content that you hope will get noticed. Spend a little bit of money to boost a successful post that you have already created. It truly does not need to be a large sum of money – ten dollars will serve you well. Take an post that has done well in terms of engagement and reach and promote it even further. You dictate your budget and how many days it should run. With the right ad targeting, these posts would continue to engage more people and reach more people.
